INFERNO

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Inferno is a 360° dome experience about how forest fires start and how the land recovers afterwards. Built by a team of three, it moves through five scenes, from the careless spark that starts most fires to the slow regrowth that follows.

I was one of the 3D artists, responsible for the final two scenes: "after the fire" and "ten years later." I used the environment to carry the arc, bare, fog-choked stumps giving way to a bright, flower-filled landscape, and modelled a range of detail props along a Maya → Substance Painter → Unreal pipeline.

360° projection dome video

This 360° video was created to be projected onto a half-dome theater, which we had access to for the project. The immersive format was designed specifically to take advantage of the dome’s 360° projection and create an engaging viewing experience.
